Hitchcock Films

Presents an in-depth examination of Alfred Hitchcock’s directorial style and its formation from 1922-1976. Analyzes one of Hitchcock’s favorite themes; an innocent man involved through unusual circumstances, falsely accused of murder, and forced to find the real murderer himself. Prerequisite: completion of the Genesee Community College reading proficiency.

1. Identify certain formulaic conventions that distinguish Hitchcock films from other films of comparable genres.
2. Analyze the films of Hitchcock utilizing at least three different techniques.
3. Discuss specific ways in which the films of Hitchcock have influenced at least three subsequent movie maker.
