Computer Assisted Drafting 1
Creates 2-D engineering drawings using basic CAD concepts and industrial level software. Focuses on the principles and practices common to all CAD systems used in drafting. Develops skills with operating systems, computer terminology, and functions of hardware and peripheral components within a workstation environment and using proper drafting standards. Requires drawings using different techniques, drawing constructions and dimensioning. Two class hours, two lab hours. Fall only.

Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Demonstrate the set-up of engineering drawings in proper form using Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software.
2. Use CAD software to draw geometric constructions (lines, circles, polygons, polylines, etc.)
3. Demonstrate CAD commands to edit/modify drawings for mechanical production
4. Utilize CAD display options to increase drawing flexibility and increase drawing efficiency
5. Create a basic kitchen design using CAD software
6. Create an orthographic CAD drawing of a mechanical object.
7. Calculate required dimensioning on an orthographic mechanical CAD drawing
