British Literature : Romantic Period to the Present
Focuses on the study of British literature from the Romantic Period to present day. Examines the nature of British culture as expressed through a variety of literary genres and historical periods. Analysis via various literary critical approaches. Computer use required for online sections. Prerequisite: ENG 101.

1. Describe the historical and social context of literary works within their appropriate periods.
2. Relate aspects of historical literature pieces to contemporary personal experiences.
3. Describe how the historic and social events and trends are reflected in the literature of the time.
4. Apply at least one literary critical method to British literature since the Restoration Period.
5. Identify influential writers of British literature since the Restoration Period.
6. Identify landmark literary works published since the Restoration Period.
7. Apply the rules of mechanics correctly in written work.
8. Employ credible academic sources as part of literary research.
9. Create coherent written critiques of works of literature.
