Course Learning Outcomes:

1. Describe contributions of notable playwrights.
2. Describe notable practitioners of theatre (actors, designers, directors, producers, theorists), defining their contributions in furthering the art form.
3. Discuss various theatre movements (romanticism, naturalism, realism, dada/surrealism, expressionism, absurdism, modernism, and post-modernism), describing the significance of the movement on historical and contemporary society.
4. Analyze a variety of plays written since the 18th century.
5. Describe the contributions of notable theatre practitioners from diverse American cultures, such as Native Americans, Hispanic, African American, Asian American, or SAGA.
